Artist Dean Reynolds pays significant homage to his influences in Surrealism and film when he opens "A Way We Go" at Parlor Gallery.
Created during his four week residency in London, Reynolds new paintings draw from film, theatre, cultural myths and fairy tales for the solo show. “The one thing I can say was acquired is a sense of perspective about myself and the work I do. This is not the concrete notion of learning this technique or this way of applying paint. Coming back, I valued the way I work more, slowly bringing a painting to life, carefully crafting a window to another world inspired by reflections of inner experience and metaphorical connections.”
