With a brooding, melancholy aesthetic, Polish painter Justyna Kopania portrays seascapes and ships at bay.
Each portrait appears suspended in time and space, with a psyche that transcends into a quality that fills a viewer with a sentiment that is more poetic or musical than visual. The application of Kopania's palette knife creates a gorgeous, crisp quality that that she often describes as 'fleshy'.
She adds, "Art is my asylum, life, poetry, music, the best cigar, tasty strong tea, everything. My Art reflects the world I perceive with all mysenses; people I meet and love; nature I admire, and all the things that affect the way I am." [via SaatchiArt]
