THE TRAVELING GIANT TREE SCULPTURE

Currently at the new MadArt space in Seattle, "The Middle Fork" project began a year ago and will be on view through April before touring.

Sculpted by artist John Grade and a multitude of volunteers right off the street, the molding of the 140-year-old Western Hemlock tree in North Bend, Washington began in April 2014. Nearing almost 90 feet in length, the sculpture will travel to various venues both nationaly and internationally for the next two years before returning to the base of the original tree to decompose. Be sure to check out the accomplishemt if it is in your area! [via Fubiz]
